Lottie is a South East England based artist with a multi-disciplinary practice of textiles and ceramics. Her creations explore touch, memory, history, family, people and sensory experience.
An experienced lecturer and technician of 3D Design specialising in sculpture, object, installation, jewellery and product design at Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts. Lottie has delivered personalised workshops via charity and community platforms in the UK, including Craftspace, Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre, Sustainable Merton and The Loving Earth Project. Having pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Textile Design at University of Arts London Chelsea College of Art and Design and an Erasmus program at University of Borås The Swedish School of Textiles, Lottie has evolved into an unconventional textile designer and maker.
Lottie’s work explores building, moulding, sculpting, stitching, carving, printing and casting of ingredients to make tangible 3D forms. Interaction, play and handling is often a key involvement, inviting audiences to often find therapy in their relationship with designed and crafted objects. Which can uncover or return a feeling, emotion or memory. They are reactive and sensitive specimens of abstract human observations.
